Trade Compliance Advisor TCRS4791

HIGH-LEVEL OVERVIEW

The Trade Compliance Advisor is the subject matter expert leading end-to-end client trade compliance support for an AI-enabled trade advisory startup company while ensuring compliance with CBP rules and regulations.

This is a hybrid or remote position based in New York City. 

EXPECTATIONS

· Lead HTS classification, duty rate calculations, valuation, and PGA screenings
· Conduct post-entry reviews and respond to CBP inquiries
· Manage duty refund programs for enterprise clients
· Provide data-driven trade advisory and clear recommendations to clients
· Drive client relationships and partner with the CEO to expand client contracts
· Use AI tools to automate and rebuild trade compliance processes
· Build the trade advisory playbook so new advisors can ramp quickly
· Serve as in-house product expert and provide feedback to the CEO and CTO

ESSENTIALS

· Licensed US Customs Broker (LCB) required
· 4+ years of trade compliance and customs experience
· In-depth experience with HTS, COO, Valuations, Import Entry process, PGA and FTA
· Fluent with AI tools to automate workflows and increase output
· Strong data analysis skills to turn trade data into clear recommendations
· Excellent communication skills to explain technical customs results to clients
· Self-starter who sets priorities and thrives in an early-stage environment
· Duty drawback, customs brokerage, or trade technology experience a plus
· Client-facing or operational startup experience a plus
