This is an on-site role in our Lakeville, MN office Monday -Thursday and remote Friday. Core hours for the position are 8am – 5pm.
We are not accepting any candidates that require company sponsorship to legally work in the United States.
This position will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the flow of goods across international borders, while minimizing and eliminating potential risks associated with improper and missing information about importing and exporting of goods. This position will
audit and manage the performance of Hearth & Homes suppliers as it relates to import and export practices.
What You’ll Do
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Research, create, and execute standardized processes for import and export activities across the company as related to import/export trade compliance.
- Run, scrub, and analyze reports pertaining to import/export activity and trade compliance.
- Gather and retain required documentation to support reported claims to the US and other government agencies.
- Operations:
- Co-write and update SOPs and material for Import and Export manuals.
- Resolve issues regarding goods in transit to avoid storage and demurrage fees by providing documentation, HTS codes, COO…etc to parties involved.
- Create systematic and standardized processes.
- Risk Management:
- Audit and retain entry packets and checklists to identify and mitigate risks associated with international trade.
- Partner with the Trade Compliance Manager when gaps are discovered to craft and execute the corrective action necessary for risk mitigation.

What You Bring
- BA or equivalent experience required in import/export or trade compliance.
- One to Two years in international trade.
- Proficient in MS Excel and Word.
- Experience in reaching out to stakeholders for learning, sharing, and collaboration.
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Export Specialist (CES) preferred.
