Tradesman (HVAC)

Responsible for routine, preventive maintenance, new installations, emergency repairs and extra assigned tasks, such as fire and disaster plans, as directed by Director of Engineering and/or Engineering Supervisor on hospital equipment including but not limited to, all air conditioning, ice machines, refrigeration equipment including coolers and freezers, centrifugal, reciprocating and absorption chillers, box car units, fan systems (including coils and dampers), balancing of ventilation systems, pumps, cooling towers, and all controls and other duties pertinent to the operation of the aforementioned equipment and climate control within the facility.

 1.Perform routine repairs on all controls and equipment necessary for the efficient and effective operation of the hospital's physical plant.

2.Performs preventive maintenance on all controls and equipment necessary for the efficient and effective operation of the hospital's physical plant

3.Performs emergency repairs and extra assigned tasks necessary for the efficient and effective operation of the hospital's physical plant.

4.Reviews work orders, priority status and designated time schedules and deadlines, and assures that all work is performed within these parameters.

5.Balances all types of HVAC systems on both air and hydronic.

6.Inspects and operates refrigeration equipment including: coolers, freezers and air-conditioning units.

7.Adheres to hospital and Engineering Department policies and procedures written and verbal.

8.Performs snow removal assignments during winter months so as to provide 24 hour access and egress for the hospital.

9.Promotes a safe and efficient working environment by adhering to hospital and department policies and procedures.

 Required: GED or Highschool Graduation
