Job Description - Trailer Mechanic

J & J Transportation is a small, family-owned company, that has been in the business for over 20 years. We have immediate openings for Semi Trailer Mechanics.

Qualifications and responsibilities:

· 1 year of experience in general trailer repair

· Knowledge of DOT requirements regarding service and repair of equipment

· Has a fundamental understanding of repairing and rebuilding components on 28ft,48ft & 53ft dry van and flatbed commercial trailers including the following:

· Suspension and running gear components

· Electrical, lighting and wiring components

· Interior and floor components

· ABS system diagnosis and repair

· Able to thoroughly perform Preventative Maintenance inspections and repairs

· Welding and metal fabrication skills

· Experience with rear roll up and swing doors

· Performs service calls and on-site trailer PM services

· Maintain a clean and safe work environment

· Basic computer skills

· Previous or current ASE certifications a plus

· Valid driver’s license

· CDL A driver’s license a plus

· Possess and maintains basic set of mechanics tools

Compensation: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
