Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Trailer Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of commercial trailers and truck bodies, including dry vans, reefers, liftgates, and more. You’ll work alongside experienced technicians in a well-equipped shop with a consistent workload and supportive management.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on trailers


• Diagnose and repair trailer components including: brakes, suspension, lights, doors, flooring, landing gear, and roofs


• Repair or replace side panels, roof skins, flooring, and structural components on dry van and reefer trailers


• Diagnose and repair liftgate issues (electrical/hydraulic/mechanical)


• Weld, fabricate, and complete bodywork as required


• Accurately document all repairs and parts used


• Ensure all work meets DOT and company safety standards


• Maintain a clean and organized work area


• Communicate effectively with service writers and managers

Qualifications

• 2+ years of trailer or truck body repair experience preferred


• Basic welding and fabrication skills (steel & aluminum)


• Familiarity with air brake systems, ABS diagnostics, and liftgate systems


• Own a basic set of tools (specialty tools provided)


• CDL or ability to obtain one is a plus


• High school diploma or GED


• Ability to pass a drug screening, background check, and MVR check.
