Job Summary: The Trailer Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and preparing trailers, mobile restroom units, shower units, laundry units, bunkhouses, and related equipment for rental operations and disaster response deployments. This position ensures all assets meet company safety, operational, and quality standards while minimizing downtime and supporting field operations.
Work Environment: This position operates primarily in a shop and yard environment, with occasional travel to customer sites, staging locations, and disaster response deployments. Extended hours, weekends, and travel may be required during emergency operations, severe weather events, and disaster response activities.
Job Classification: Full-time, non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Pay Range: $24 to $26 an hour
Location: Hiram, Ga area
Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on trailers, mobile restroom units, shower units, laundry units, bunkhouses, and related equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems, lighting, wiring, batteries, and power distribution components.
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing systems, including water lines, pumps, valves, sinks, tanks, and restroom fixtures.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, including minor repairs and complete unit replacements as required.
- Install and replace accessories, dispensers, signage, decals, and safety equipment.
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections and ensure all units are deployment ready.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records within company asset management systems.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA guidelines.
- Assist with asset intake, fleet audits, inventory control, and asset tracking.
- Support emergency deployments, disaster response operations, and special event mobilizations as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in trailer, RV, fleet, mobile equipment, or related repair and maintenance fields.
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC.
- Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, schematics, and work orders.
- Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred but not required.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other shop equipment safely.
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand, kneel, crawl, climb, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
