This role serves as a key link between technical training and shop floor operations, ensuring employees develop the skills needed to improve quality, reduce scrap and rework, and drive overall production performance. This position maintains a strong presence on the production floor and partners closely with operations to identify and close technical skill gaps.

Essential Functions:

  • Assess training needs on the production floor and identify technical competency gaps impacting quality, efficiency, and productivity

  • Develop and maintain technical competency matrices across manufacturing processes

  • Coordinate and support training programs using TWI (Training Within Industry) methodology

  • Evaluate operator skill levels and support certification readiness and technical release decisions

  • Partner with production, quality, and engineering teams to improve training effectiveness and performance outcomes

  • Support and guide instructors and coaches to ensure consistent training delivery and alignment with operational goals

  • Monitor learning curves, cross-training coverage, and early-stage employee performance (30-60-90 day evaluations)

  • Develop, update, and standardize work instructions to reflect best practices and operational standards

  • Analyze training data and generate reports to support continuous improvement and decision-making

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives focused on scrap reduction, rework reduction, and productivity gains

  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical field preferred; technical degree required

  • Must speak Spanish

  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment

  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes such as assembly, machining, or welding preferred

  • Experience supporting or delivering training in a production environment strongly preferred

  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar)

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and drive action

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with LMS or training systems preferred

Fender is required by law in certain jurisdictions to include a pay scale in the job posting for this position.  “Pay scale” means the salary or hourly wage range that Fender reasonably expects to pay for this position; it is neither a promise nor a guarantee of the compensation that the successful candidate will receive.  The pay scale for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that Fender considers in making compensation decisions, including, without limitation: skill set, experience, and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.  If this is a remote position, the pay scale disclosed herein may be adjusted further based upon the applicable geographic differential associated with the location from which the successful candidate will work.  Please note that it is not typical for a Fender employee to be at or near the top of the pay scale for their role – especially as a new hire – and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  Subject to the foregoing, the current pay scale for this position is $22.50 to $25 per hour.
