Job Summary As the Training Manager, you will play a pivotal role on our team by ensuring the on-going training and development of Property Managers and Assistant Property Managers within a designated region. In this role, you will have responsibility of upholding Glacier West operational standards through effective communication, coaching, and training. Collaborating closely with your District Manager, you will support the consistent application of policies and procedures across all assigned locations. This role is an addition to your current Property Manager role, requiring exceptional performance in store management and the ability to coach and mentor team members effectively.
What you will be doing In addition to your role as a Property Manager, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Onboarding Training:Facilitate comprehensive training for new employees on Glacier West Self Storage's procedures and standards based on the New Hire Training Handbook. Ensure new hires have a positive onboarding and training experience.
Administrative Duties:Serve as the primary contact for requests such as discounts, allowances, and refunds on tenant accounts. Address procedural questions related to the daily tasks of a Manager.
Ongoing Training: Support the training of current Managers when new objectives and procedures are introduced. Provide training interventions when standards are not met, or procedures are not followed. Ensure alignment with New Hire Training Handbook and any potential updates to it.
Operational Proficiency: Maintain strong working knowledge of systems and processes such as SSM, 10 Stop Sales Process, Auction Process, Ticketing Systems, Employee Handbook, and New Hire Training Handbook.
Job Development: Continuously learn, utilize, and assist with various workplace applications and tools to expand your individual and the company’s capabilities.
Data Management and Reporting: Gather data and prepare reports for District Managers as required.
Compliance and Guidelines: Adhere to the guidelines and framework provided in the New Hire Training Handbook and Employee Handbook.
Collaboration and Communication: Foster and maintain a positive working relationship across the organization. Send monthly or weekly email to team members as directed by the District Manager. Be an active participant and encourage others to participate in company communications and events.
Additional Information: This position requires a balance between your current property management duties and the responsibilities of a Training Manager. The role demands high performance, leadership, and professionalism in both training and day-to-day management tasks.
Travel and Schedule Flexibility: Occasional travel is required based on business needs. Maintain a flexible schedule to meet training needs and varying schedule requirements.
Fulfill any other job-related duties as assigned by management based on business needs.
Qualifications
3+ years of related experience in the self-storage industry is highly preferred, but not required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
Skilled in using office programs such as Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams).
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards operationally and professionally.
Dependable and Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
The ability to efficiently maintain standards and procedures at your assigned property as well as assisting other property teams in maintaining their own.
Must not have received any corrective action within the prior 6 months of applying.
Maintain a high level of discernment and professionalism with all interactions both internal and external.
Compensation $2 Training Stipend for Hours Worked (This will be compensation in addition to hourly rate that you currently earn as a Property Manager/Assistant Property Manager and will not be applied during PTO, such as vacation, sick leave or bereavement or jury duty.
