Position: Transfer Lead
Status: Full-time – Non-Exempt
Department: Production
Reports To: Production Manager
Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Production Manager the Transfer Lead performs all the duties necessary to ensure all processes related to the transfer of eggs from incubators to hatchers is completed properly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Coordinate with Production Manager to designate tasks to team members as applicable , Coordinate with Production Manager to verify which incubators to transfer out of
• Coordinate with Production Manger on what hatchers are being transferred into
• Coordinates with Production Manager for vaccine program
• Leads by example
• Oversees transfer from set up of equipment to end of day cleaning
• Organize and direct transfer team, ensuring transfer machine is functioning properly/equipment is being used and cleaned properly – coaches team members when needed
• Collaborate with leadership if team members are not responding to training
• Ensure racks are being put into proper machines in correct order
• Ensure partial trays are properly transferred
• Ensure vaccine maker is following policies and procedures as well as vaccine schedule
• Verify each hatcher used is set for correct time and program
• Verify all paperwork is filled out correctly
• Assist in transfer
Machine maintenance – Embrex basic repairs (sensors, pumps, needles, punches, vaccine/sanitizer lines) – communicates with Embrex Rick or Production Supervisor if assistance is needed and informs Production Supervisor of any major issues that occur
• Monthly vinegar flushes
• Bi-weekly tube changes
• Organize stock and disposes of expired stock – lets supervisor and/or Embrex know when low on supplies (diluent, sterile water, dye, needles, alcohol, Embrex supplies)
• Keeps transfer area clean, organized – including Embrex supplies so parts can be found in a timely manner
• Monitor and alert Production Supervisor if vaccines are low in stock
• Verify all hatchers are running properly and set times and programs are correct before leaving
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Prior Lead or Supervisor experience preferred.
• Must be able to maintain quality control standards.
• Knowledge of reading and writing the English language
• Ability to count and record numbers accurately.
• Ability to adapt to change.
• Ability to give directions and correct other mistakes.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Must be able to push heavy equipment.
• Must be willing to handle live poultry.

Physical Demands
• Work is performed in a consistently changing environment – hot and humid to air-conditioned rooms.
• Work is performed indoors and outdoors.
• Requires the ability to tolerate unpleasant odors associated with eggs and poultry of various quality.
• Normal corrective vision range, ability to see color and distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
• Frequently required to stand and walk.
• Requires full range of body motion including handling, lifting, and moving heavy boxes and equipment.
• This position may require heavy lifting, up to 50 lbs.
