Translator Consultant

We are currently searching for a Translator Consultant:

Responsibilities:

• Lead a growing translation team, optimizing capacity and workflow efficiency.
• Review/analyze translation requests, prioritizing based on risk, corporate priorities, and resource availability.
• Determine translation channels (AI/internal/external) and negotiate deadlines, managing client expectations.
• Ensure brand consistency by reviewing translations (automated/internal/external) for tone, accuracy, and adherence to style guides.
• Provide constructive feedback to team members, fostering peer learning and autonomy.
• Collaborate with Translation Management, adapting to evolving priorities and industry trends.
• Proofread, edit, and approve final versions of financial/marketing documents (print/web/internal systems).
• Maintain translation tools: memories, terminology databases, and style guides.
• Mitigate operational risks by adhering to compliance frameworks (AML, regulatory, etc.).
• Build a high-performance team through coaching, inclusion, and succession planning.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Translation.
• 10+ years in translation industry, with 7+ years revising EN→ES/ES→EN documents.
• 5+ years managing corporate translation services.
• Native fluency in Canadian English and Latin American Spanish.
• Expertise in CAT tools (MS Office, Adobe, Workfront) and AI translation technology.
• Strong financial services knowledge; securities/wealth management experience a plus.
• Leadership & mentoring skills, with ability to manage teams under pressure.

Desired:

• Securities/wealth management translation experience.
• Certification in translation technology or project management.

Languages

• Advanced Oral English.
• Native Spanish.
