Job Description - Translator -Native level in Japanese
Position Summary:
The Research translator is responsible for translating written financial materials from Japanese to English for clients. This role ensures accuracy, clarity and professional tone while preserving the original intent and industry context. This candidate will collaborate closely with teams in both New York and Tokyo to support timely and effective communication of markets insights and financial analyses.
Core Responsibilities:
Translate a variety of Japanese financial documents such as reports, memos, comments, and presentation materials into professional English
Ensure clarity, accuracy and consistency across translated materials
Conduct reviews and provide quality assurance for translations completed by others
Coordinate with teams in both Tokyo and New York to relay information and manage task priorities, including monthly and statistical reports
Liaise with external translation vendors and manage outsourced translation workflows
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Finance, Economics or related field
Native level fluency in Japanese with strong English written skills
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Strong time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Bloomberg and financial databases preferred
Prior experience in financial services or research a plus
Self started with a collaborative mindset and ability to work in a fast paced environment
