Transport Monitor

Description

Gateway Rehab Center (GRC) in Erie, PA is looking for a Driver who is responsible for completing transportation requests. This position receives frequent supervision and instruction.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to and from various referring agencies
• Transports and escorts patients to appointments.
• Maintains vehicles, including gassing/oil changes/inspections/maintenance.
• Monitors patient movement into and out of the facility.
• Maintains daily logs.
• Maintains knowledge of all facility rules, regulations and policies.
• Conducts intakes and participates in the orientation of new patients.
• Conducts patient drug screening.
• Makes telephone contact with employers to verify patient movement.
• Makes telephone contact with families/friends of patients granted furloughs.
• Conducts random room searches.
• Dispenses  authorized prescription medications to patients.
• Attends mandatory GRC trainings and in-services.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to drive a car or van.
• Ability to communicate well with others.
• Good listening skills. 

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimal maintenance skills.

Additional Requirements· 

• Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record to pass a MVR. 
• Pass a PA Department of Corrections Clean Check. 
• Pass Drug Screen
• TB Test if applicable. 

Work Conditions

• Department of Corrections 
• Favorable working conditions with the exception of inclement weather driving.
• Physical demands include lifting of moderate amounts of weight and sitting for extended periods.
• Moderate mental demands include assurance of well-maintained vehicles and adapting to schedule changes
