Transportation Associate

Description

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations.

• Comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.

• Long-haul and short-haul driving.

• Obeying and following applicable traffic laws.

• Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing loads within the vehicle and trailers.

• Maintaining required log of working hours in compliance with Company, state, and federal regulations.

• Routine maintenance of company equipment, assets and vehicles.

• Ensuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving.

• Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules.

• Loading and unloading trucks with forklifts and pallet jacks as needed.

• Verify loads for accuracy, and deliver product as instructed.

• Interact with Austin Hose staff and customers in a professional manner.

• Performing pre-and post-trip vehicle inspection reports.

• Recording product deliveries.

• Report defects, accidents, and violations immediately.

• Continually keep updated on job knowledge. 

• Learn, use and become educated on all aspects of Motive.

• Day-to-day duties fluctuate constantly, and this individual must be flexible and open to change.

Requirements

Job Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• 21 years or older.
• Must possess a valid state commercial driver’s license (CDL) Class A.
• Must possess a valid Medical Card as per DOT standards.
• One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education      and experience.
• Incident free driving record preferred.
• May be subject to drug and alcohol, medical exams, and physical agilities testing.
• Forklift Driving Certification.
• Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with a wide range of people.
• Ability to  maintain a casual professional appearance while representing the Company      as the Transportation Associate.
• Ability to pass Pre-Employment and Random Drug Testing.
