Transportation Coordinator

Position Overview:
The Transportation Coordinator will help the transportation team with arranging the pick-up and delivery of shipments, tracking shipments using GPS technology, and ensuring that trucks are maintained and able to operate safely. They also maintain records and reports to document shipments and monitor performance. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Effectively coordinate and communicate with the team to assess equipment status, identify operational requirements, and address any outstanding issues, leveraging in-depth technical knowledge of the equipment


• Coordinate the transportation of goods from one location to another


• Schedule and assign drivers to ensure timely delivery of cargo


• Communicate with drivers and clients to ensure smooth operations


• Monitor the movement of vehicles and cargo to ensure safety and compliance


• Maintain accurate records of shipments and inventory


• Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure vehicles are in good condition for transport


• Resolve any issues or delays with shipments in a timely manner


• Work with brokers and other transportation companies to arrange for additional capacity when needed


• Manage logistics and supply chain operations to optimize efficiency and reduce costs
  

Qualifications:

• Extensive knowledge of heavy haul equipment is required.


• Minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation for heavy haul or oversized loads.


• Knowledge of transportation regulations, permits, and safety requirements for heavy equipment.


• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills required.


• Proficiency in logistics software and tools like SAMSARA and MCLEOD preferred.
