A Transportation Design Engineer at VS Engineering will independently lead design tasks for transportation projects in our Fort Wayne, IN office. Our Fort Wayne Office is a vibrant mix of experienced and developing talent serving NE Indiana and the great Fort Wayne metropolitan area. Our local staff includes expertise in public works projects serving city, county, and DOT clients, as well as providing resources to projects across our company.

A Typical Day May Include

• Leading project design calculations/reports/planning preparation/roadway modeling
• Assisting office leadership in the preparation of proposal documents and preliminary project evaluations
• Developing peer network with staff at other firms and public agencies to enhance personal and firm relationships during project coordination efforts
• Coordinating project tasks and reporting to project manager and supervisory staff to assist in budget, schedule, and project status tracking
• Supporting Indianapolis and regional offices on a variety of infrastructure projects

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a related Engineering degree from an ABET accredited program
• Registered Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training in Indiana
• Experience designing transportation projects
• Background working on INDOT, county, and municipal transportation design projects
• Technical knowledge/ computer skills:
  • ACAD Civil 3D / MicroStation Bentley Open Roads Designer
  • Drainage software including StormCAD and CDSS
  • Microsoft Office products: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
  • Adobe
