Transportation Designer I

As a Transportation Designer I, you will be a vital part of Dawood’s Traffic/Highway Group. Successful candidate will report to the either the Manager of Highway Services or Manager of Traffic Services and will work directly with Highway and Traffic Engineers, Transportation Planners and CAD Technicians to develop Construction Plans and a wide variety of highway and traffic related deliverables and studies. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Roadway Design and Construction Plans
• Cross Sections
• Guiderail Design
• Drainage Design
• Stormwater Management Design
• E&S Plans
• Traffic Control Plans
• Traffic Signal Plans
• Signing and Pavement Marking Plans
• ADA Ramp Design and Reviews
• Highway Occupancy Permit Plans and Reviews
• Highway Lighting Design
• Right-of-Way Plans 

Required Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering or related discipline
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software 

Preferred qualifications:

• Two to four years of professional experience in the Transportation Engineering industry
• Experience with MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads Designer
• Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic and/or VISSIM
