Job Description - Transportation planner

What you will be doing:

The Transportation Planner 1 - Technology Planner is responsible for overseeing the planning, installation, and integration of airport electronic systems. This role involves coordinating the management and implementation of CCTV systems, as well as continuously testing, developing, and studying new technologies for ACS, CCTV, and Building Automation Systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the planning, installation, and integration of airport electronic systems.
Coordinate the management and implementation of CCTV systems.
Continuously test, develop, and study new technologies for ACS, CCTV, and Building Automation Systems
Liaise with vendors, manufacturers, and contractors.
Ensure compliance with safety and security regulations.
Represent the organization at various local and national platforms.
Maintain an inventory of necessary parts.
Conduct regular maintenance of all relevant systems and equipment.

Knowledge of the uses of database management systems and software to control the organization, storage, retrieval, security, and integrity of data.

Transportation

:

Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including costs and limits.
Transportation Engineering

:

Knowledge of the concepts, principles, theories, and methods applicable to planning, designing, and constructing of transportation systems including traffic analysis, signal analysis, highway capacity, pavement design, bridge construction, planning of transportation projects, environmental analysis of transportation facilities, and transportation network analysis.
Equivalent to those typically gained by:
Post-secondary education in urban, regional, transportation, or landscape planning;
AND/OR
Experience, which involves some combination of the design of research projects, setting standards for technical adequacy, and/or coordinating the planning contributions of lower level planners or other agencies, in environmental, transportation, or community development; architecture; civil engineering; landscape architecture; urban design; historic preservation; geography; geographic information systems; housing administration; grant administration; accounting; business management; or research.
