Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Transportation Project Manager, we'll count on you to:

Work with a team as a project manager or task leader for primarily highway and/or local road projects in the preparation of plans, specifications and estimate for projects of various sizes and complexity
Manage the following work elements: day-to-day communication (verbal and written) with the client, support and advise junior engineers and technical staff, write reports and technical memos, coordinate with subconsultants, keep project on schedule and within budget, and keep client satisfied
Produce some of the following plans: Roadway Sections, Alignment/Right of Way Plans, Temporary Erosion Control Plans, Site Preparation Plans, Roadway Profiles, Drainage Plans and Profiles, Utility Plans (Water & Sewer), Paving, Pavement Marking Plans, Signing Plans, and Traffic Control Plans
Independently coordinate work of engineers and balance workload throughout entire project's development
Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to schedule
Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering
7 years related experience
A minimum 2 years project management experience
PE license and if registered as a PE in another state, the candidate must gain Texas reciprocity within 6 months
Demonstrated leadership skills
Demonstrated hands-on experience using MicroStation, InRoads, GEOPAK, or other CAD design software
MS Office Knowledge
Excellent communication and organizational skills
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

PMP certification
A minimum of 10 years' experience in transportation roadway design including project management experience
