Transportation Specialist

Job Summary:

The Transportation Specialist provides high-level administrative, operational, and logistical support to the Director of Transportation. This role assists in coordinating daily transportation activities, maintaining compliance with policies and regulations, and managing communications. The specialist serves as a liaison between the director, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Director in planning, organizing, and overseeing transportation operations and schedules.
• Manage communications and correspondence on behalf of the Director, including phone calls, emails, and memos.
• Maintain transportation records, including maintenance logs, incident reports, schedules, and compliance documentation.
• Help monitor fleet usage and ensure timely inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Support the development and implementation of safety protocols and training programs.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations (e.g., DOT, FMCSA) a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to provide 39 month Motor Vehicle Record.
