Requirements
- Regular hours are Monday through Friday 6:30am to 4:30pm
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends and school vacations
- 12 month position
- Class A or B license
- Endorsements
- Air Brakes
- Passenger
- School bus (for Nevada)
- School Bus Certificate (California)
- First Aid/CPR Card if it is not on your school bus cert.
- DOT Medical Card
- Finger prints (must pass federal background check)
- Be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and enroll in random drug testing (FMCSA)

3 years no positive drug test
- 10 year DMV Printout
- 10 years no DUI
- 3 years no moving violations
- 3 years no suspended or revocations
- Must have mountain/winter driving experience
- California School Bus Instructor preferred

- Preform daily vehicle inspections (DVIR)
- Drives routes (Start @ 6:30am - End @ 4:30pm)
- Field Studies (Activity Trips)
- Chain up bus during inclement weather
- Drive summer camps
- Maintains open communications with TEA Teachers and Parents
- Pupil Management
- Annual school bus evacuation drills
- Bus to/from maintenance work (Velocity, Sparks and BusWest Woodland, CA)
- Maintains buses
- Fuel
- Add Fluids (oil, coolant, washer fluid, etc)
- Minimal mechanical work (care of the bus)
- Wash/clean/sweep bus
- Purchase bus supplies (oil, coolant, etc)
- Works on Snow Days removing snow off/around buses
- Works over school vacations to make sure maintenance is done on buses so it doesnt interrupt school transportation
Files all Transportation Paperwork
- Drug Testing (FMCSA)
- Training (T-01/T-02)
- Maintains Drivers Files
- CDL, School Bus Cert, DOT Physical, etc
- Field Studies (Activity Trips)
- Bus Maintenance
- Annual/Monthly mileage
- Trips/Field Studies per grade
- Student Check Sheets
- Pre-Trip Inspections (DVIRs)
- Transportation HR
- School SUV maintenance records

- Parent/Volunteer Driver Forms and information
- Staff/Faculty Driver Forms and information
- Creates TEA Transportation forms and spreadsheets
- Maintains Transportation Calendars
- Emails, phone calls & messages regarding paperwork
Keeps Transportation in Compliance
- Stays up to date on rules and regulations
- Updates forms as needed
- Drivers Hours of Service
- Drivers Cert expiration dates
- SCHOOL BUS CHP 292, insurance, registration, fire extinguisher, etc. expiration dates
- School Bus Maintenance (PMI)
- CHP, DMV, DOT, DOE & FMCSA
- Liaison to CHP, DMV, DOE, DOT, etc.
- Reports hiring/firing, annual and pertinent information to the required entities
