Job Title: Trash Truck manager
Department: Building Maintenance

Status: FT Year Round Hourly

Reporting To: Facilities Manager

Position Overview:

We're hiring a Trash Truck Manager to oversee all waste management operations across Powder Mountain. This position is ideal for someone with CDL credentials and direct experience managing trash or haul systems in remote or large-scale environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive and operate trash/recycling trucks safely and efficiently in all weather conditions
• Create and manage waste collection schedules for public and private resort areas
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal waste disposal regulations
• Perform vehicle inspections, light maintenance, and manage fleet service logs
• Supervise seasonal laborers or assistants supporting janitorial waste efforts
• Respond quickly to emergency cleanups or overflow issues
• Coordinate with Facilities and Events teams during high-traffic resort days
• Maintain reporting logs for pickup routes, tonnage, and landfill delivery slips

Requirements and/or Qualifications:

• Valid CDL license (Class B or higher)
• 2+ years experience in waste management, municipal sanitation, or similar role
• Comfort operating heavy vehicles in winter conditions and mountainous terrain
• Strong attention to safety, environmental compliance, and reporting
• Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Mechanical aptitude or ability to perform minor vehicle maintenance (preferred)
• Experience managing part-time or seasonal crews (preferred)

Physical Requirements:

• Full range of body movements 
• Reach, push, pull, lift, and carry objects that may be heavy (50lbs) 
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and twisting 
• Must have command of senses – sight, hearing, touch, and smell 
• Vision requirements – close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception 
• Walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain 
• Climb/descend stairs/ladders 
• Manual dexterity to operate manual tools and power equipment on a constant basis 
• Safely handle hazardous materials 

Working Environment:

Work is performed inside and outside. Candidate will be exposed to extreme temperatures (hot &cold), sun and wind exposure, inclement weather (rain, snow, ice), high altitudes (9,000ft+), moving machines/equipment, dust, wet, humid, dry, loud noises, and fumes from chemical conditions and frequent altitude changes.
