Job Summary
We are seeking a Travel Agent to join our team! As our Travel Agent, you will spend your days communicating with clients, listening to their travel needs, and planning all components of their travel. You will also be responsible for suggesting additional trip add-ons, processing payments from clients, and maintaining excellent communication throughout the journey. The ideal candidate has strong communication and customer service skills, previous sales experience in the travel industry, can handle travel emergencies, is detail-oriented, and can multitask across multiple projects and trips at any given time.
Responsibilities
- Field incoming phone calls and walk-ins from new potential clients
- Present multiple trip options based on their wants and needs
- Book air, hotels, cruises, activities, tours, and insurance for clients
- Accept and process payments
- Maintain a line of communication throughout the trip planning process as well as during the trip itself
- Assist in any emergencies to give the client the best experience possible
- Maintain excellent records of clients, payments, trips, and other details in our Agency software program
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, sales experience a plus
- Strong understanding of the logistics of travel and geography
- Strong listening skills, with the ability to translate what the client enjoys into a trip or experience
- Must be comfortable communicating in person, over email, and on the phone with clients
- Familiarity with basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, and common calendar software
- Willing to learn our Agency travel software program
- Strong organizational skills
- The ability to multitask and shift priorities, as needed

Burr Travel is a Full Service Travel Agency that has been a proud part of the Northport Community for over 60 years. Our busy storefront office is open Monday to Friday from 10am-5pm and we accept Walk-Ins and incoming cold calls from new potential clients. We have 5 full time agents and over 35 independent agents. Our travel expertise and concierge services keep clients coming back.
