Travel Coordinator

Summary

Provides efficient and cost- effective office support operations to the NYPA enterprise. Ensures NYPA information assets are protected, accessible and supports business needs.

Full-Service Travel Agency handling efficient and cost-effective domestic and international travel requests for the NYPA enterprise including air/ground transportation, lodging and/or vehicle rental arrangements for an individual or group of travelers.  Responsible for the coordination of off-site meetings for groups in accordance with Travel and Accounting policies and procedures. #LI-VB1

Responsibilities

• Process travel accommodations (air, train, hotel, car rentals) through Sabre Global Distribution System (GDS) for approved travel requests in a cost effective, timely manner in accordance with Corporate Travel and Accounting policies and procedures; distribute itineraries and completed reservation information to employees.


• Assess unexpected travel complications and/or issues and identify a solution in a timely manner.


• Provide back-up itineraries and receipts for travel inquiries related to expense reporting.


• Become familiar with business relationships between key stakeholders, travel industry contacts, and NYS agencies, e.g., Office of General Services (OGS).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).


• Very good written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.


• Proven ability to effectively prioritize work, meet deadlines and provide a high level of customer service.

Education, Experience and Certifications

• High school diploma required.


• Minimum 2 years of experience in the travel industry preferred.


• Proficiency with Sabre Global Distribution System (GDS) required.

Physical Requirements

Minimal travel to NYPA sites, vendor properties and OGS Albany for program administration as needed.
