Travel Licensed Practical Nurse LPN

*Consider our Premium Pay for YesCare Travel LPN's at the Eastern Correctional Institution in Westover, MD! This is permanent employment for LPNs that are willing to travel out of town for 3 consecutive 12s per week, or 6 consecutive 12s every two weeks.*

* Contributes to the assessment of the health status of patients.
* Participates in the development and modification of a patient’s plan of care.
* Performs delegated tasks, activities and functions that are consistent with prior educational preparation and within scope of practice.
* Responds to and initiates care for medical emergencies throughout the facility. This includes the ability to perform continuous CPR until properly relieved.
* Administers and documents medications on the Medication Administration Record. Documents all nursing care provided.
* Provides direct basic care to assign multiple clients within the structure of the healthcare program at their facility.
* Provides safe and effective nursing care and assumes responsibility for the care delivered.
* Implements patient and correctional officers education based on established teaching plans.
* Utilizes a problem-solving approach as the basis for their decision making.
* Monitor offsite and onsite scheduling with a collaborative approach.
* Monitor consult process as it relates to policy and contract.
* Participates in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Activities.
* Participate in Patient Care Committee Meeting
* Monitor CARES- with coordination as needed
* Performs venipuncture and I.V. therapy as defined by scope of practice.
* Monitors and schedules offsite appointments and provide coordination as needed
* Will work in collaboration with Regional Medical Director, site medical providers, Regional Nursing Director and other site nursing leaders.
* Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
* Performs other nursing duties as assigned.

Pay: $40.00 - $42.00 per hour
