Summary:
Under the supervision of the Medicaid Pending Manager, the Traveling Medicaid Pending Specialist will travel to centers, to help assess whether individuals qualify for nursing home Medicaid. The Traveling Medicaid Pending Specialist may work with Medicare, Medicaid, Disability, and other government-sponsored programs. The Traveling Medicaid Pending Specialist my also provide training, support, and guidance to centers that accept Medicaid Pending individuals.
Responsibilities:
Travel to SLP centers in Texas and Oklahoma.
Monitor Medicaid residents at risk for disqualification on annual renewal applications.
Monitor Trust Fund for Medicaid residents to ensure not over the resource limit.
Assist centers with completing Medicaid renewal applications yearly.
Monitor the status of Medicaid/SSI applications and provide documented updates on each account.
Assist with center accounts receivable reviews, and guide complex Medicaid/SSI Pending accounts.
Ensure payers are accurate for all Medicaid/SSI Pending, approved, and denied cases as needed.
Assist with sending weekly communication tools, and document response, as needed.
Review Medicaid applications and documents for newly admitted residents, to ensure eligibility.
Communicate with the BOM, RAM, state Medicaid, and Social Security office to follow up on Medicaid/SSI applicants, as needed.
Support the BOM in providing consultation, guidance, and oversight of the Medicaid/SSI process.
Support the RAM by assisting with orientation and training of the BOM on the Medicaid/SSI processes as needed.
Communicate with residents/responsible parties regarding Medicaid Applications and associated documents.
Attend training, meetings, and seminars when necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma required; college degree preferred
Experience working in long-term health care preferred
Extensive knowledge and experience in the collection of healthcare accounts receivable Comprehensive knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare billing processes and systems
Knowledge of Medicaid eligibility process
Possess a strong background in business office-related systems and software
Strong general knowledge of computer systems
Basic knowledge of human resource and payroll processes
Basic knowledge of Resident Trust Fund activities
