Traveling Culinary Aide

Overview

Otterbein is seeking a Traveling Culinary Aide! This is an exciting position with the responsibilities of working with our communities. You will assist in the food preparation and service in various locations, supporting chefs and other kitchen staff, while adhering to food safety standards and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.   Otterbein is Senior Living Organization in Ohio/Indiana with full-service kitchens and dining rooms. 

Responsibilities

• Excellent customer service is a must!!


• Excellent attendance


• Assistant in preparing ingredients, following recipes, and cooking instructions


• Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively 


• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines, including proper food handling techniques


• Work closely with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations


• Be ready to take on various roles based on the team's needs at different venues


• Coordinate with team regarding travel arrangements, ensuring timely arrivals at venues

Qualifications

• Previous experience in culinary environment, preferably in a kitchen setting


• Experience with food preparation and handling


• Experience with food safety and sanitation procedures

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent


• Culinary training or certification is a plus

Experience: 2 to 5 year’s cooking experience in LTC or similar setting preferred
