Job Description - Treatment Coordinator

Description

 As a Treatment Coordinator, you will be an essential part of the dental team, responsible for ensuring a seamless patient experience from the moment they walk in the door to the completion of their treatment. This role requires someone with strong dental experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage administrative duties while delivering outstanding patient service. 

Requirements

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Coordination: Greet and check in patients, ensuring their personal information and treatment details are up to date.
  • Treatment Planning & Presentation: Work closely with the dentist to present treatment options and financial plans to patients, helping them understand the procedures, costs, and benefits of their recommended treatments.
  • Scheduling: Schedule appointments for treatments, follow-up visits, and consultations, ensuring optimal use of the doctor’s time.
  • Insurance Verification: Verify insurance benefits, manage pre-authorizations, and provide accurate cost estimates for treatments based on insurance coverage.
  • Financial Coordination: Assist patients with understanding payment options, including insurance coverage, payment plans, and financing options.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients on the importance of their recommended treatments, follow-up care, and overall oral health.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in the practice management software, ensuring all necessary information is up to date.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the front office, clinical team, and dental professionals to ensure patient care is efficient and effective.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, resolving concerns, and ensuring that patients have a positive experience.

Qualifications:

  • Dental Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a dental office, with a solid understanding of dental terminology, treatments, and procedures.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to explain complex treatment plans in an easy-to-understand way.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage a high volume of patients and administrative tasks.
  • Insurance Knowledge: Familiarity with dental insurance plans, pre-authorizations, and billing processes.
  • Computer Proficiency: Experience with dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar) and basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office.
  • Patient-Centered Approach: A strong commitment to delivering excellent patient care and building lasting relationships with patients.
  • Positive Attitude: A team player with a friendly, professional, and compassionate demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with treatment coordination, including presenting treatment plans and handling financial arrangements.
  • Bilingual (Spanish, Polish, or other languages) a plus.
