Location of position:         Wichita, KS

Position Summary:

The Triage Nurse is a registered nurse positioned in our Clinical setting; responsible for assessing patients and determining their level of need for medical assistance over the phone.  The Nurse uses criteria to evaluate a patient including the type of injury or illness, its severity, symptoms and patient explanation. 

Responsibilities:               

• Answer incoming calls and perform patient assessment and assigns a triage priority based off information provided
• Work directly with the Physician and APP to provide optimal patient outcome
• Act as the liaison between Physician and patients, caregivers, and other members of the patient’s health care team
• Document patient care services by charting in patient records
• Effective communication with Physician, APP, patients, care givers and staff members
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times

• Communicate with and assist In-Office Dispensing department in regards to patient education, medication and durable medical equipment (DME)

• Perform other duties as assigned
  

Qualifications:                  

• Graduate of an accredited RN or LPN Program
• Current Licensure by the Kansas State Board of Nursing
• Maintenance of Continuing Education Hours in accordance to Kansas State Board of Nursing Requirements
• Valid Kansas Driver’s License and BLS certification
