Position Purpose:
The Tribal Program Specialist is responsible for the maintenance and updating of tribal membership rolls in accordance with the Constitution of the Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma. The Programs Specialist performs the daily operational duties required to process and maintain all records regarding tribal membership in close coordination with the Enrollment Committee in performing its duties as outlined in the Constitution and the Enrollment Ordinance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Serve as primary representative to provide clerical assistance to the Enrollment Committee.
· Upon receipt of all required documentation required to show membership in accordance with the Constitution, record new membership and issue tribal membership cards.
· Prepare membership documentation and reports as required by the BIA Field Office Field Representative and act as the primary tribal contact for the issuance of CDIB cards and maintenance of the IRMS People Subsystem.
· Maintain all records of eligible tribal members in an organized, orderly, and systematic manner (cross-reference cards for each applicant for individual membership record and by family group).
· Respond on behalf of the tribe to all communication received from any and all sources regarding tribal membership.
· Process all membership update requests and submit to the Enrollment Committee, Business Committee and/or Peoria Tribal Council as required by the Constitution and/or Enrollment Ordinance.
· Maintain records of all data pertaining to membership rolls including correspondence and documents and create appropriate files.
· Ensure all inquiries and requests are followed up in a timely manner until completed.
· Research tribal records to ensure accuracy of information submitted on membership application.
· Organize work in a timely manner to meet all deadlines and schedules.
· Prepare reports for program compliance.
· Monitor program records and ensure timely payments based on the Grant Award Document.
· Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
· REQUIRED to possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
· PREFERRED to possess a bachelor’s degree or (10) years’ experience in business management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Enrollment experience is required.
· Possess knowledge of the Constitution of the Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma and the Enrollment Ordinance.
· Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as people skills.
· Organizational and record-keeping skills are necessary for the accuracy of official census records.
· Proficiency with computers and programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet.
Certifications:
· Valid Driver’s License and Insurance.

Work Requirements:
Position involves prolonged sitting, standing, stooping, or bending, lifting, or carrying 30 pounds on a daily basis. Work is generally performed in an office/shop environment with varying levels of lighting, air quality, noise, and / or temperature.
