Trimmer Operator

Description

Hood Industries is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Trimmer Operator to join our lumber manufacturing team in Bogalusa, Louisiana. This position is responsible for operating trimmer equipment to safely and efficiently process lumber while meeting production, quality, and safety standards.  

What You'll Do: 

• Operate trimmer equipment, conveyors, and related machinery to safely and efficiently process lumber.
• Inspect lumber and make trimming decisions based on quality and production standards.
• Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance or production issues.
• Assist with routine equipment maintenance.
• Clean equipment and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
• Handle and move lumber safely throughout the production process.
• Work with team members to meet production and quality goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

• Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Manufacturing or sawmill experience is preferred but not required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

This position is performed in a fast-paced lumber manufacturing environment and requires the ability to:

• Stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and reach throughout the shift.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work around moving equipment, wood dust, and elevated noise levels.
• Work at varied indoor and outdoor temperatures.

Hourly Rate: $19.13
