Truck Driver (Automotive Manufacturing)

Summary:

The driver is responsible for transporting parts and materials between Drake headquarters and   customers and suppliers.  This position will mostly be delivering and picking up locally.

Functions

· Loading, transporting, delivering and picking up items in a safe, timely manner.

· Review orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete.

· Making payments for items at the time of pick up when necessary.

· Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules.

· Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.

· Make boxes, peeling stickers and breaking down boxes as needed.

· Assist the warehouse with packaging duties as needed. 

· Know the Quality and Environmental policy and their objectives.

· Follows all safety, environment and quality procedures and instructions.

· Adheres to all employment rules and regulations.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a non-exempt, full-time hourly position regularly requiring at least 40 hours per week. 

Eligibility Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent

· At least 21 years old (DOT requirement)

· Valid CDL(Class A) state of Michigan license

· DOT Card

· 5 years’ experience required

· Clean driving record

· Ability to climb in and out of the truck, and other physical requirements of the position.

· Ability to lift 50 pounds
