Truck Driver/Laborer

Description

The truck driver position performs a variety of routine and complex transportation work in driving and coordinating transportation plans in support of the Construction Divisions as well as help out with laboring on job sites when not driving. 

 Requirements: 

MUST possess a valid CDL CLASS A or B driver's License

Essential Functions

• Perform a variety of duties in the operation of the Construction division, such as hauling, dumping, snowplowing etc.

• May plan route to ensure most economical use of time and equipment.

• Obtain road construction materials from storage yard and haul to job site.

• Assist with preparing roads for surfacing; dig holes and trenches.

• Operate jackhammers, brush clippers, mowers, and other small equipment and tools to maintain streets and utility system.

• Plow snow and salt roads according to departmental policy.

• Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to supervisor.

• Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.

• Serves as a member of crew and assists with any aspects of the job as needed.
