Truss Designer

What You'll Do

• Design truss layouts based on blueprints and job specifications

• Use MiTek software to ensure accurate and efficient truss designs

• Optimize material usage and support production efficiency

• Communicate with sales, production, and customers to resolve design or engineering issues

• Visit job sites when necessary to address on-site challenges

• Maintain organized records and documentation for each project

• Assist in training junior designers as needed

• Follow up on quotes and engage with clients to support sales and service

Qualifications

Required:

• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints

• Strong math and geometry skills

• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal

• Dependable with a reliable mode of transportation

• Knowledge of TPI and local building codes

Preferred:

• 2+ years of truss design experience using MiTek or similar software

• CAD or drafting background

• Construction or truss shop experience

• 2-year technical degree or relevant experience
