Job Description - Trust Officer and Legal Services Coordinator

Overview:
Accelerant Law is a boutique private wealth law firm serving ultra-high-net-worth families, private trust companies and family offices. Our Nevada practice is centered on sophisticated trust and estate planning, private trust company formation and administration, and bespoke family office services. We operate at the intersection of law, tax, and fiduciary service — providing integrated counsel and administration to clients with complex, multigenerational wealth structures.

Our Nevada office anchors our fiduciary platform, taking advantage of the state's favorable trust, tax, and directed trust legislation. We are a small, collegial team that prizes excellence, discretion, and self-direction.

Position:
We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Trust Officer & Legal Services Coordinator to join our Nevada office in a distinctive hybrid role. This position supports both the firm's fiduciary administration practice and its trusts and estates legal practice. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable administering complex trust accounts as they are supporting attorneys with document processing, file management and client correspondence.

This is not a conventional trust officer role, nor is it a traditional legal assistant position. It is a purposefully blended role designed for a professional who brings both fiduciary competence and legal acumen. The right person will be highly organized, discreet, responsive, and motivated by the challenge and thrives in an independent and fast paced work environment.

Location:
This position is open only to candidates who are physically located in Nevada. The role will be a hybrid role, with a preference to work from our Las Vegas office location 2 days per week.

Essential Responsibilities:
Trust & Fiduciary Administration

  • Administer individual trust accounts for client’s Nevada private trust companies, including onboarding, account maintenance, and offboarding.
  • Monitor trust accounting activity, and maintain accurate records in compliance with applicable trust agreements, policy and procedure manuals and applicable state statute.
  • Coordinate with investment advisors, custodians, accountants, and other third-party service providers in administration of the trust.
  • Manage trust administration timelines, required notices, and statutory deadlines.
  • Compile meeting binders, draft meeting minutes and consent resolutions.
  • Support the development and maintenance of policies and procedures for the private trust company.
Legal Support — Trusts & Estates Practice
  • Assist attorneys with the preparation, formatting, and finalization of trust agreements, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and related estate planning documents.
  • Form legal entities and draft basic agreements for legal entities.
  • Assist in the preparation of gift tax returns (Form 709) and federal estate tax returns (Form 706).
  • Coordinate client signings, including notarization and witnessing logistics, and manage execution of legal documents.
  • Maintain and organize electronic and physical client files.
  • Assist with estate administration matters, including probate filings, asset marshalling, beneficiary communication, and estate tax preparation support.
  • Draft routine client correspondence, engagement letters, and status updates under attorney supervision.
Experience / Education Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in trust or estate administration, or within a trusts and estates legal environment (or a combination thereof).
  • Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent professional designation preferred.
  • Strong understanding of trust and estate law concepts, including fiduciary duties, trust accounting, and estate administration procedures.
  • Experience supporting legal professionals in a law firm, trust company, family office, or similar setting.
  • Experience working with high-net-worth clients and complex trust structures (e.g., directed trusts, private trust companies) preferred.
  • Familiarity with estate and gift tax return support (Forms 706 and 709) preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal/administrative tools (e.g., Westlaw, Clio, Box, GEMS, Gmail).
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and time management skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and work independently.
