The right Trusts & Estates Paralegal for this role will assist attorneys in all stages of basic and advanced estate planning and probate processes and should have a firm understanding of court procedures and legal protocols. Responsibilities include assisting in drafting estate planning documents, handling probate administration, and conducting legal research. Our ideal candidate is well organized, is friendly, has strong written and oral communication skills, and has a keen eye for detail.
Skills/Abilities Desired:
Detail oriented; strong work organization skills, ability to work and problem solve independently
Proficient in Microsoft Office – specifically MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams
Solid verbal and written communication skills
High level of professionalism; ability to act with discretion and tact in all situations
Ability to maintain organized electronic and paper records and produce reports in a timely and desirable manner
Ability to manage numerous projects in a fast-paced environment
Ability to be flexible and work more than 46 hours per week or during peak periods
Key Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys in drafting estate planning and probate documents
Help manage and organize estate and probate files
Form business entities
Conduct legal research relevant to estate planning and probate processes
Coordinate with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals
Prepare and file legal documents with appropriate courts
Update and maintain databases and tracking systems
Ensure all deadlines are met in a timely manner
Follow up with clients on necessary paperwork and signatures
Additional assignments and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
Job Requirements:
Proven work experience as a paralegal, 2+ years in the field of estate planning or probate required minimum
Strong knowledge of probate court procedures and rules
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Proficient in legal research and document drafting
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Paralegal certification or degree in legal studies is preferred
Salary/Compensation:
Salary is commensurate based upon relevant experience and qualifications
