Job Description 

Tulsa Service Year is a paid, full-year fellowship for recent college graduates who want to launch their careers doing high-impact work in the nonprofit sector. Get matched through a mutual selection process with a nonprofit organization in our extensive network in America’s most philanthropic city.   

Who is it for?

College seniors and recent graduates who are curious, driven, and want to build their skills in a city known for innovation, collaboration, and possibility.

All majors are welcome. Our fellows have come from the humanities, social sciences, business, STEM, education, and the arts.

As a cohort, Fellows participate in professional development and immersive experiences driven by our employer partners, team and members of the Tulsa community. 

How does it work?

The selection process consists of a mutual matching system, with the ultimate goal of finalists confirming a placement with one of our employer partners who fits their area of interest and skill set.  

What are the benefits?

TSY Fellows are paid $19.23 per hour. This equates to an annual amount of $40,000, assuming a 40-hour work week. In addition, you will be offered benefits and a $2,500 sign-on bonus to help with relocation.  Benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k, and others are also included.

Tulsa has a modest cost of living, so this compensation will allow you to enjoy the city’s long list of amenities and events. To make the move easier, we’ve curated a list of some of the best local apartments centered in the heart of Tulsa.

In lieu of a cover letter, these are the questions we'd like to ask. Responses can be submitted as a PDF and uploaded along with your resume during the application process.

1. Tulsa is often described through a few familiar narratives. Tell us three specific things you've learned that complicate or go beyond those, and what questions each one leaves you with. Feel free to include links, images, or anything else that shaped your thinking.
2. In 250–400 words, describe a time you created community impact with limited resources. What did you do and what changed?
3. Leadership can look like guiding others, stepping up to solve a problem, or supporting a team. Share an example of when you led or supported others and explain how your actions made a difference.
4. Write a professional email to a community partner to reschedule a kickoff meeting due to a conflict. Keep it under 200 words and include a proposed agenda.
5. Optional: Is there anything else you'd like us to know about why you're a strong fit for this fellowship?
