Danner’s, Inc. is looking for a Dispatcher / Customer Service Representative to join our team in Pasadena, TX. This is an opportunity to become an important part of a fast-paced maritime transportation operation where communication, attention to detail, urgency, and teamwork matter every day.
As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for helping keep our operation moving by coordinating Drivers, vehicles, customers, and job assignments while making sure our customers receive professional and timely service.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Dispatcher / Customer Service Representative, you will:
- Triage emails, phone calls, and customer inquiries.
- Plan, schedule, and dispatch Drivers and vehicles to meet changing and dynamic job requirements.
- Verify that Driver paperwork is correct and complete.
- Work closely with Drivers to coordinate customer pickups and drop-offs while maintaining maximum productivity and efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, customers, and teammates to coordinate services and resolve issues.
- Ensure all job assignments are properly entered, logged, and updated in the company system.
- Track and follow job assignments and Driver status using cell phones and GPS.
- Monitor Driver availability and location.
- Ensure all required paperwork is completed and updated for each job.
- Assist in expediting problematic jobs that are late, missing, mis-routed, returned, or otherwise delayed.
- Communicate with customers regarding job details, delays, changes, and other service-related matters.
- Promote and maintain customer satisfaction and goodwill by ensuring customer pickups and drop-offs are completed in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain a strong sense of urgency while continuing to prioritize safety and accuracy.
- All Dispatcher candidates will initially start in a driving position to become familiar with Driver responsibilities, job duties, company procedures, and the day-to-day operation.
- Occasionally drive company vehicles when necessary to meet client expectations or assist with operational needs.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by management.

THIS IS MORE THAN A DISPATCH JOB
Our Dispatchers are a critical connection between our Drivers, customers, and operations team. You will be expected to communicate clearly, make decisions quickly, keep accurate records, and help resolve issues before they become larger problems.
The ideal candidate is someone who can think on their feet, stay organized under pressure, communicate professionally, and take ownership of getting the job done.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
General Requirements
Qualified Dispatcher / Customer Service Representative candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Must be age 24 or older to apply – REQUIRED.
- Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card – REQUIRED.
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License.
- Minimum of 2 years of Dispatcher experience, preferably in the maritime industry.
- Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English.
- Must be employment eligible based on company background requirements, including:
- Criminal background check
- MVR review
- Health screening
- Drug screening
- Ability to work under stress and remain calm in challenging situations.
- Strong typing skills.
- Ability to solve problems and work effectively under pressure.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Desire to grow, learn, and work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent sense of urgency.
- Knowledge of the maritime industry is preferred.
- Ability to learn and effectively use new software applications.
- Must possess the ability to utilize basic technology, including smartphones, tablets, mobile applications, GPS, and company software, to complete training, conduct inspections, track assignments, communicate with Drivers and customers, and perform daily job duties.

Sense of Urgency – Understand that timing matters and respond quickly when situations require immediate attention.
Adaptability – Adjust to changing schedules, customer needs, Driver availability, and operational conditions.
Teamwork – Work effectively with Drivers, Dispatchers, Supervisors, Managers, and other Danner’s employees.
Accountability – Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and follow through to ensure the job is completed correctly.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the ability to perform the following physical duties:
- Average to excellent hearing.
- Average to excellent vision.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally drive vehicles.
- Walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and stooping.
- Other physical demands may be required as needed based on operational responsibilities.

This is a fast-paced maritime transportation environment. The position requires the ability to manage multiple assignments, communicate effectively, and remain professional and focused when dealing with changing priorities and time-sensitive situations.
Depending on operational needs, the position may require working nights, weekends, holidays, or other non-traditional hours.
Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.

COMPENSATION
Competitive hourly rate: $18.00–$22.00 per hour depending on experience.
