Overview
The Student Services Officer 4 is responsible for planning, coordinating, and carrying out a range of student services programs, including admissions, registration, placement, financial aid, and career counseling. This role entails providing comprehensive student support, financial counseling, and administrative responsibilities. Key responsibilities include serving as a liaison for system improvements, analyzing financial aid applications, and making professional decisions based on established policies. The Officer collaborates with various university departments to enhance student experiences and ensure compliance with institutional guidelines, while maintaining a high level of service to students and their families.
Required Skills and Abilities
1. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and counsel students and stakeholders.
2. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
3. Proficiency in utilizing computer software applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
4. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
5. Advanced interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
1. Demonstrated experience with financial aid processes, including needs analysis and use of relevant software applications (e.g., Banner, Workday).
2. Master's degree in a relevant field and experience in international education, student health and safety, or related areas.
3. Proven experience in higher education administration, recruiting, or career development.
4. Advanced knowledge of database management systems and data analysis tools.
5. Prior management experience and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Principal Responsibilities
1. Plans and executes admission, financial aid, internship, and career services programs. Prepares and submits recommendations to admissions and financial aid committees. Plans and cultivates new corporate relationships to generate job opportunities both domestically and internationally. 2. Participates in long-range planning; recommends and contributes to the development of career services, financial aid, and admissions policies. 3. Provides guidance, advices and counseling on academic, admissions, financial , and career services matters to students and prospective students. Works with students, alumni and employers to identify existing and emerging employment opportunities. 4. Develops and analyzes statistical data to determine patterns and trends that impact and inform the direction of the admissions or financial aid. Conducts ongoing research on employment trends and evolving industry-specific recruiting and talent management needs. 5. Develops budgets and loan repayment schedules. 6. Develops systems for admissions and financial aid activities. Leads projects to continuously improve use of technology. 7. Writes publications to inform students of developments within financial aid and admissions offices. 8. Organizes and conducts corporate presentations, networking nights, and career fairs. Guide employers in developing and executing on-and off campus strategies for attracting University talent. 9. Supervises and trains a staff of exempt and non-exempt employees. 10.
