The Staff Pad is seeking a UI/UX & Front-End Web Developer in Houston, Texas. Our client got their start over 48 years ago, and were one of the first in-building property technology innovators. Today, they are building on that legacy as a stable, by being an innovative provider of video, data, and digital transformation services to the largest owners and managers of hotel and multifamily brands in the world.
*THIS IS AN IN-OFFICE POSITION*
We are seeking an expert in UI/UX design and front-end development to join the growing Creative Team. You will be a natural at understanding human-computer interaction design (HCID), in coming up with elegant solutions to improve our software tools, and in developing modern front-end JavaScript frameworks. You will partner with a team of creators with diverse backgrounds and skillsets, and be a willing participant in meetings, presentations, and pitches as needed.
What Youll Do:
- Design and implement UI wireframes for various in-house developed products and platforms.
- Present concepts and ideas to cross-functional teams and key internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with development team to ensure work stays within scope of product.
- Participate in regular team meetings, bringing new ideas to the table.
- Communicate directly with external clients to present ideas and receive feedback.
- Analyze client needs and feedback to ensure project stays within scope or implementation.
- Conduct research and deconstruct our users’ digital interactions and habits.
- Come up with UI and UX strategies based on our target goals.
- Create and maintain digital assets, such as interface design files, wireframes, and interactive mockups using Adobe XD or Figma.
- Design, build, and maintain highly reusable JavaScript, HTML and CSS code.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current trends within the UI/UX space.
- Demonstrate applied project management skills.
- Have a willingness to own projects and take responsibility for meeting milestones and deadlines.
Requirements
- 2+ years’ experience as a front-end developer
- 1+ years’ experience as a UI/UX designer
- Proficiency with industry-standard software tools, specifically Adobe Creative Suite and/or Figma
- A portfolio that demonstrates both JavaScript proficiency and understanding of SOLID design principles (plugins, node packages, etc)
- Knowledge of CSS, CSS extension languages (Less, Sass), and CSS preprocessor tools
- Expert knowledge of HTML5 and its best practices
- Familiar with the concept of CSS-in-JS
- Proficiency in:
o Designing interfaces and building clickable prototypes
o Git version control
o React 16+ / Redux for application state management
o Material-UI framework
- Experience with WordPress development a plus, but not a requirement
