Job Title: Unclaimed Property Specialist 3
Client: State of Arizona – Department of Revenue (AZDOR)
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid – typically onsite 1 day per week)  


📌 Position Overview 


SOAZ is seeking a Unclaimed Property Specialist 3 to join the Taxpayer Services team with the Arizona Department of Revenue. This role is responsible for efficiently collecting, safeguarding, and distributing unclaimed property to rightful owners while providing education and guidance to the public and property holders regarding Unclaimed Property Laws. 


This is a local-only hybrid position with remote interviews. Candidates must be available for in-person interviews within 1 week of posting close date.  


📅 Job Details 




  • Contract Length: 12 Months


  • Work Location: 1600 W. Monroe St., Phoenix, AZ, 85007


  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hrs/week)


  • Tentative Start Date: 9/29/2025 (NEO onboarding)

 
🔑 Responsibilities
 

  • Process unclaimed property holder reports and post cash receipts.



  • Assist callers and provide guidance on unclaimed property laws.



  • Receive and manage tangible property transferred to Unclaimed Property.



  • Research ownership of unclaimed property using statutes, regulations, and records.



  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve claims and inquiries.



  • Compile, analyze, and evaluate information accurately.



  • Maintain multiple assignments and consistently meet deadlines.





 
✅ Required Skills & Knowledge
 

  • Strong computer skills in an office environment.



  • Knowledge of unclaimed property, escheated property, securities, probate, and related statutes.



  • Ability to interpret and apply rules, regulations, and statutes.



  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.



  • Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making abilities.



  • Accuracy in data entry, math, and database use.



  • Ability to research, analyze, and compile evidence from various sources.





 
🎓 Education & Experience
 
Required Experience:
 

  • Claims review experience (insurance, government claims, or accounting).



  • Medical billing or related claims-processing experience.





Preferred Education:
 

  • College-level coursework in Accounting, Business, or Public Administration.



  • On-the-job training or prior work with unclaimed property.



  • Experience in claims-review industries such as insurance or government sectors.



 


Flexible work from home options available.



Compensation: $22.00 per hour
