Join Our Team as an Underground Fiber Technician in the Hutchinson and Buhler, Kansas area. In this role, you will be in the field, physically building the infrastructure that connects homes and businesses. What You'll Do:

• Safely operate and maintain heavy construction equipment, including backhoes, excavators, plows, and boring machines.
• Perform all aspects of underground construction: digging trenches, laying conduit, pulling fiber, and setting vaults and pedestals.
• Read and interpret design prints to ensure accurate installation.
• Troubleshoot and overcome obstacles encountered during construction.
• Work with your crew to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standard.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment at all times.
• Adhere to all safety protocols as outlined in the company handbook.

Experience/Knowledge Required:

• 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• A valid and current driver’s license is required.
• The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to dig with a shovel, pull fiber/conduit by hand, and lift up to 100 lbs. 
• Able to pass a fit-for-duty physical fitness test.
• Experience operating construction equipment (e.g., boor machine, plow, excavator, backhoe, compactor, concrete saw) and maneuvering large trucks with trailers.
• Must be available for on-call duties for emergency tasks as needed (evenings & weekends).

Preferences:

• Previous experience in underground construction or the telecommunications industry.
• A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is highly preferred but not required
