We are seeking an Underground Foreman to join our team in Aurora, CO supporting underground telecommunications construction projects throughout the Denver metro area. This role is responsible for planning and coordinating daily field operations, leading a construction crew, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer specifications and company standards. The ideal candidate has strong underground missile boring experience, proven leadership skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to maintain a productive, organized, and professional job site.

The Role

  • Pick up assigned work and coordinate daily construction activities
  • Lead the crew and coordinate equipment, materials, and job site resources
  • Perform underground missile boring for telecommunications conduit and utility installations
  • Safely operate and maintain underground construction equipment
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, utility locates, work orders, and customer specifications
  • Ensure work meets project requirements, quality standards, and company expectations
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site
  • Complete daily production reports, safety documentation, equipment inspections, and job records
  • Communicate project progress, field conditions, material needs, and issues to the Construction Manager
  • Coordinate with other construction crews to ensure safe and efficient project execution
  • Assist with restoration, cleanup, and final project completion
  • Travel to job sites as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 3+ years of underground missile boring experience required
  • Experience operating underground construction equipment
  • Knowledge of underground telecommunications construction practices
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, work orders, and utility locates
  • Knowledge of underground utility installation and damage prevention practices
  • Ability to identify hazards and make safe decisions in the field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be willing to travel when required
  • Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed 
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work
  • Ability to carry, climb, operate, and work upon an extension ladder (approximately 28 feet high and 75 pounds), ability to climb poles or other structures as needed
  • Ability to complete work outdoors, in tight spaces or elevated by bending, reaching, twisting, climbing, and working while standing up to 70% of the time, year-round in all weather conditions 
  • Ability to occasionally work near moving mechanical parts, electricity and/or powerlines, risk of exposure to electrical shock, radiation, vibration
  • Able to follow safety standards, demonstrate a thorough understanding of above-ground clues and use them in conjunction with utility locates, construction drawings, and field conditions to identify potential underground utilities and obstructions, preventing utility strikes and maintaining a safe work environment
  • Must provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a driver’s license is required if the role involves driving
  • Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
