Underground Utility Locator- Texas

RLM Companies: RLM Underground & VeroHDD seeks a full-time GPR Locator to join our field crews in Texas (Bastrop County) as a direct-hire employee. We need someone to accurately mark and document the location of existing underground utilities to guide our drilling crews on telecom Construction projects. 

Qualified GPR Locators must be self motivated and able to communicate with and direct Telecom construction crews safely around underground utilities. Identify and mark the location of subsurface utilities using specialized equipment to ensure safe Telecom construction projects. You will work with some Spanish (only) speaking crews and may need to use Google Translate (or other translating tools) to communicate effectively. Ultimately, you will be responsible for the success of our drilling efforts on new construction projects in Bastrop County, TX.

• Company truck and locating equipment will be provided.
• Hourly pay range of $20 - $24 per hour.
• Following a 90-day introductory period, Locators are eligible to earn a 5 cent per foot production bonus.

This is a fieldwork role, meaning you will be working outdoors in various weather conditions. Qualified candidates will be familiar with working on construction sites, excavation projects, and other locations where subsurface utilities may be located. This role requires solid teamwork effort and communication ability. You will be working hand in hand with other utility locators, surveyors, and Construction personnel. 

• Must be able to read and understand construction maps. 
• Must have a track record of consistent follow through. 
• Must be aware of and able to follow necessary safety protocols.
• 3 to 5 years of prior GPR locating experience in the field is preferred.
• Must be familiar with the Telecom Construction industry and associated processes, machinery, and tools.
• Must be able to interpret and analyze GPR data to generate detailed reports and drawings.
• Must be able to work with and help guide bi-lingual Telecom construction teams safely around underground utilities. 
• Passing grade in an accredited GPR Locator course preferred.
