Underwriting Assistant

Cottingham & Butler is looking to add an Underwriting Assistant to our team in Dubuque, Iowa! This role facilitates the efficient processing of insurance policies by managing documentation, data entry, and communication with internal and external stakeholders. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Support underwriters by reviewing incoming account information, checking for missing documents, and coordinating follow ups with internal or external teams.


• Enter and maintain accurate data in underwriting systems while keeping files organized and up to date.


• Prepare, process, and distribute underwriting documents.


• Assist with premium audits and basic reporting across multiple systems. 


• Coordinate with other departments to share or clarify needed information.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities


• Willingness to learn and initiative 


• Customer service oriented with the ability to work collaboratively


• Strong time management and organizational skills


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
