Underwriting Specialist

As an Underwriting Specialist at UpEquity, you will be a pivotal player to ensure UpEquity’s loan operations processes are executed efficiently and effectively for every customer.

As an Underwriting Specialist, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Review and analyze loan applications 


• Examine verification documents and create/clear underwriting conditions as needed to ensure compliance with company guidelines and evaluate a borrower’s creditworthiness


• Open and review title search reports; work to address any clouds


• Review property inspections and identify required repairs


• Order closing packages and coordinate closing dates with UpEquity’s Customer Experience team


• Maintain accurate information in loan operating system for operational and management reporting

Qualifications:

• Prior experience working in mortgage or loan operations is required


• Strong written and verbal communication skills


• Strong time-management, project management and organizational skills


• Attention to detail and rigorous commitment to quality


• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment


• The drive to build something new and make continuous improvements


• Ability to work well in a team as well as independently
