Position Summary: Performs all secretarial, clerical, admitting and transferring functions to support the Emergency Room. Responsible for overseeing clerk/tech schedules. Manage equipment in the ED and inbound and outbound materials. Allocate ED tech’s daily assignments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee clerks/tech schedules
Manage equipment in the ED, as well as, inbound and outbound materials
Allocate ED tech’s daily assignments
Order Entry
Facilitating calls to medical staff
Copies charts
Keeps charge Nurse aware of delays with patient care
Time frames are within department standards in coding doctors and preparing charts for discharge and transfers
Compiles charts daily
Acknowledges and incorporates - the importance of culture, the assessment of cross-cultural relations, and vigilance towards the dynamics that result from cultural differences, the expansion of cultural knowledge, and the adaptation of services to meet culturally-unique needs.
Promotes a clean and safe environment of care, utilizing the SAFE error prevention habits
Provides the highest standard of privacy and confidentiality in matters involving patients, coworkers, and the hospital by abiding by the Standards of Conduct
Required Qualifications:
Education and Training:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Previous ER experience strongly preferred.
Must be organized, have excellent communication and customer service skills, great computer skills, must use proper phone etiquette and knowledgeable with Medical Terminology.

Days - 12 Hours, Unit Clerk full time 7a-7p rotating weekends and holiday rotationDepartment:
