Unit Coordinator Key Responsibilities:
Assign jobs, responsible for providing direction and exercise independent judgment.
Implement and follow resident and patient plan of care.
Perform rounds at the beginning of shift and frequently during the shift to observe proper care and condition of the residents and patients. Communicate any issues which need addressing.
Ensure all supervised team members respect resident rights, including the right to refuse treatment and the right to be free from abuse and neglect.
Validate the presence of your team at the start of your shift and communicate report data and instructions. Manage staff call outs when needed.
Function in a leadership role of your care team. Distribute duties and assign tasks to non-licensed personnel as indicated within the State Nurse Practice Act.
Conduct weekly audits on any residents with bed sores or wounds, charting this information on the appropriate forms and informing Director of Nursing of findings and progress.
Perform resident care duties as requested and required.
Review charts and MARs and address and issues or discrepancies.
Communicate with on-coming shifts any pertinent information on the residents.
Required Qualifications:
Registered Nurse or Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of South Carolina
CPR Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
