Unit Secretary - Burlington, VT 

Pay: $20.60-$30.00 DOE 

Shift:  72 hours biweekly

1 week - Monday-Friday, 2nd week - Monday-Thursday

OVERNIGHT: 9pm-5:30am

Duration: Temporary 

The Unit Secretary is responsible for the secretarial aspects of the unit. She/he acts as a support
person to the staff and other members of the team for indirect aspects of patient
care. This position functions as a pivotal communication link between the health care team, other
departments and patients and families

Experience: Previous employment in an office or health care environment.

Knowledge/Special Skills:

•  Keyboarding skills of 40 wpm.


• Must be able to use multi-line phones, fax machine, and photocopier.


• Familiarity with Microsoft business applications.


• Must possess good written and verbal communication skills in order to work in a busy office environment while maintaining a professional, customer-oriented attitude at all times.


• Must be able to handle multiple tasks at once, along with the ability to prioritize and balance patient needs.


• Some exposure to computers and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
