Job Description - Unit Secretary, Pre -admitting

Performs a variety of clerical and administrative support activities relating to the updating and organizing of information on the nursing unit. Operates multiple telephone line system to answer & direct incoming calls appropriately.

Performs tasks like: Answering telephone and intercom calls in a professional and prompt manner; Using computer system to input accurate information obtained, print labels/stickers; and Performs other clerical duties as requested or as needed; including but not limited to filing, photocopying, faxing, collating, typing correspondence, scanning, and data entry, etc.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or GED

Minimum of one (1) year position-related experience or completion of Medical terminology/Unit Assistant course work.

Valid drivers license and an acceptable insurable driving record

HIGHLY PREFERRED:

Technical college or courses completed

Two (2) or more years hospital experience in a Unit Secretary or closely related position
