KenCrest is hiring Universal Direct Support Professionals (UDSP) for multiple locations within our Residential Program.

The UDSP serves as a highly skilled DSP who is capable and willing to work in a variety of settings with minimal notice. The UDSP is not assigned to a specific home but to a variety of settings in geographic area, including, but not limited to residences, supported independent living, home and community based services. They are expected to travel to the service at the direction of the PM/Scheduling Department. This position requires schedule flexibility and knowledge of the medical and behavioral needs of the clients they may be called on to support. Specific training must be completed and maintained to remain in this position.
 

The UDSP provides care, supervision, habilitation, and support to individuals in accordance with state and Agency guidelines.  Ensures the health, welfare, and safety of all individuals being supported.  Promotes and provides unique and individual opportunities for each individual to develop and grow towards greater independence and helping them chart their life path.

Common Daily Tasks:

• Serve as both a caregiver and life coach to promote independence.
• Helping guide individuals with activities of daily living (some examples are personal care, meals, and medication, outings and shopping trips).
• Support the individual by helping with communication and self-expression.
• General housekeeping tasks and meal preparation.
• Be creative in helping the individual meet their own goals - look for fun activities or ways for them to participate in community activities.
• Complete required documents like incident reports, behavioral data, seizure charts, medical visit forms, etc.

Required for Employment

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record

**Must have minimum of 2 years’ driving experience; License, Registration and Insurance must match with candidate’s permanent State of residency**

• Clear criminal record, background checks and drug test in accordance with state requirements
• Ability to convey, understand and follow spoken and written instructions in English
• Strong Communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
